Case Worker/Community Development Worker

Yarrenyty-Arltere Women’s Program

12 month contract

Level 5-6 ($54,790 - $59,119)

Duties include case management and group work with women within and related to Yarrenyty Arltere (Larapinta Valley) Town Camp.

Consultation with community members and other services to plan and provide relevant and accessible community development programs.

Improve access to information, services and provide advocacy and mentoring for women in the community.

The Position will work towards developing and delivering Parenting Workshops through the Community Centres of Larapinta Valley, Hidden Valley and Karnte Camp.

The position will be responsible for working with families and Elders within the community to share intergenerational knowledge and provide advice and support regarding parenting and child rearing practices.

This position will also deliver a once weekly after hour’s playgroup for town camp families

The role of the Trainee Trainer is to assist the trainer with the planning, organisation and delivery of training programs. They are responsible for ensuring participant attendance and assisting with any administrative duties as required.

This position plays a vital role in leading, facilitating and supporting the delivery of culturally appropriate early childhood, youth and family programs designed to improve outcomes for Town Camp children and families.

The role of Community Centre Manager is to provide strategic direction, leadership, coordination and support to Community Centres and Coordinators ensuring effective community engagement and delivery of integrated services and programs for children, youth and families.

This is a key leadership role requiring the exercise of a considerable degree of independence; is responsible for managing the team and coordinating complex projects that impact on strategic priorities and operational outcomes of the organisation.

PROJECT OFFICER- CIRCUIT BREAKER PROGRAM

Circuit Breaker is a rehabilitative youth camps program that celebrates, strengthens and supports young people, and their families, to re-engage young people in education and youth services, targeting improved life pathways and the cessation of anti-social behaviour.

The Circuit Breaker Camp Officers project manage the planning, delivery and evaluation of active camel and horse trekking bush camps of 2 weeks duration, while also facilitating case management, mentoring, counselling and referrals for young people both before and after the camp program. Both the male and female camp workers coordinate the male and female camps respectively.

This position would investigate programs in Australia and overseas which demonstrate best practice and undertake research which can quantify and qualify the needs and vulnerabilities of this group in Alice Springs.
