Tangentyere Council is a community controlled Public Benevolent Institution delivering human services and social enterprise activities for the benefit of Aboriginal people from the Town Camps and Central Australia.

First incorporated in 1979, the organisation was a finalist in the 2016 Reconciliation Australia, Indigenous Governance Awards and is one of the 15-20 biggest Aboriginal Corporations in Australia.

The Tangentyere Safe House is responsible for the provision of short term accommodation for up to 9 Aboriginal children between the ages of 7-10 years and their siblings, who are in the care of the Chief Executive of the Department of Children and Families.  The aim of the program is to ensure young people are supported through a physically, emotionally and culturally appropriate family environment.

Staff work on a roster system and are required to manage all aspects of the House whilst on duty, as well as the supervision of and interaction with all children residing in the House.

This position requires a satisfactory Police Check and Ochre Card.
