Child and Family Practitioner (Male identified Position)

Level: 4.1 - 5.1 (depending on Qualifications/Experience)

Salary: $65,372 - $73,656

Access to Education (A2E) is an innovative and unique program that supports Aboriginal children and youth to achieve positive outcomes in education, safety and wellbeing in the Alice Springs Greater Region.

The Intensive Family Preservation Service (IFPS) receives referrals from Territory Families (TF), and provides intensive support to families with children aged 0-18 residing in the Alice Springs region where it has been identified by TF that there is a high to very high risk of the children being removed from the family home due to Child Protection concerns.

Working from a strengths based perspective, the Child and Family Practitioner will provide focussed and purposeful intensive support to families on their caseload, working alongside them to address safety concerns and risk factors in order to ensure the family stays together and the children can remain safely in the family home. The Child and Family Practitioner will collaborate with the family and TF to develop and implement a Family Preservation Plan (FPP) aimed at addressing barriers to change, and draw on strong case management skills to work alongside the family to build their capacity to care for and protect their children through the provision of significant outreach support and advocacy.M

The A2E IFPS has a very strong commitment to cultural safety in its practice. This position reports to the IFPS Coordinator and is supported with professional supervision.

This position requires a satisfactory Police Check and Ochre Card.
