Indigenous Landscapes

Indigenous Landscapes NT is a land management and landscaping enterprise. As the enterprise is contracted for particular jobs, people are employed. This has been a means of providing employment to Aboriginal people and utilising their training in particular areas such as landscaping and concreting.

A number of significant landscaping contracts have been fulfilled on remote communities and within Alice Springs.

Indigenous Landscapes NT operates under a Charitable Trust arrangement to relieve the poverty, sickness, destitution, distress, suffering, misfortune or helplessness of Aboriginal people in Central Australia.

Nursery

The Tangentyere Nursery has been running since 1984. Whilst in the past it has been grant funded, it is now a stand alone social enterprise, generating income through sales of plant products. Tangentyere Nursery specializes in native plants, but also supplies a range of fruit trees well adapted to Central Australian conditions.

The nursery is open to the general public from 8.30am until 4.00pm Monday to Friday and sells native plants and a range of fruit and citrus trees at very competitive prices.
